Imbach & Cie. AG celebrated its 120th birthday together with customers and friends on 05 June 2009 at a party thoroughly enjoyed by all. What began in 1889 with products for forestry, construction and agriculture has, over the generations, developed into a modern and technologically diverse system provider for metal components. The family business, run by 4th-generation descendant Hans Rudolf Imbach, now employs some 90 staff, and has 10 apprentices.

By combining the processes of open die forging, ring rolling and drop forging, the extremely wide range of materials, and the continuous development of complete processing options, Imbach provides a diverse clientele with ready-to-install and pre-assembled components under one roof.

Over the last two years, the company has made significant investments. The forging processes have been optimised by upgrading the control system of the 800-t open die forging press, tripling the furnace capacity, acquiring new forging manipulators, and modernising and increasing the efficiency of the ring rolling machines. The new factory building, which commenced operations in autumn 2007, has allowed the company to drastically improve its efficiency in the area of complete machining. Two new lathes and a large portal measurement machine meet the increasing precision requirements for complete machining of sophisticated parts.

There was a mad rush on the open day on 6 June 2009 at the Imbach & CIE AG premises in Nebikon. Some 2000 curious faced excitedly watched the various work stages, from material planning, to hot forging, machining, and measurement of the individual parts, to assembly of the components. The various machines and systems on display, whose components were installed by Imbach, provided an in-depth insight into the company’s accomplishments.

Many were astounded at how the “hammer-smith in Nebikon” had, in recent years, transformed into a high-tech establishment with global focus.
